Phaklan and the Lake of a Thousand Tears

Hanuman searches for the way to Langka for the troops of Phra Ram to follow. Ongkot and Chompoopan accompany him on the Reconnaissance mission

As Hanuman, Ongkot and Chompoopan were travelling on the way to Langka, they came across the lake of the demon Phaklan, who was once a servant of Phra Isworn, in the days before the Yaksa were flung down from Heaven. He made the mistake of having a secret affair with Nang Gaesoramala, and was thus cursed by Phra Isworn to guard the Lake of a thousand Eyes (sra Pandta - สระพันตา). As th three Vanora soldiers arrived on the scene, Phaklan and the Monkeys clashed immediately in battle, ongkot kicking, Chompoopan slicing and hanuman hitting from all sides. Phaklan became so wounded and tired that he ran around trying to escape, until finally, out of breath, he raised his hands in reverence and asked "who are you, who have beaten me?".
Once it became clear that they were the 3 soldiers of Phra Ram, Phaklan told them of the spell to break his curse that told of three soldiers of Phra Ram coming and stroking his back, releasing him from the spell of the ancient curse holding him at the lake of a thousand tears. He then begged Ongkot to stroke his back, which Ongkot kindly conformed with. Phaklan mutated immediately into the form of a Deva, and flew up into the Heavens straight away, released from his curse. After this the three Vanora heroes continued their journey onwards to the town of Mayan... Continue reading what happened to the three Vanora on the rest of the Journey to0 Langka
