Asamukhee kidnaps Pra Laks

Continued from Pra Ram meets Kumpala

There was once a Lady Yaksa Giant called Nang Asamukhee. She had long breasts, and a very fat black body. She was as tall as a palm tree, with fanged teeth which curled up as far as her ears, and long yellow lower tusks like an elephants. Her eyes were blood red. She lived in the great forest and survived by killing cows and deer and eating them.

One day,as Asamukhee Yaksa was wandering in the forest, she saw Pra Ram and his brother Pra Laks who had just continued their journey in search of Nang Siidaa after their meeting with Kumpala Yaksa. Nang Asamukhee yaksa thought she would catch the two brothers and eat them, so she his under a tree trunk to watch them.

As she gazed upon the two Princes more closely, she was overcome with desire (for they were radiant and handsome). She thus made her magical incantations and transformed into her supernatural form - the earth shook and the sky grew dark, and Nang Asamukhee sprang out from under the tree trunk and grabbed Pra Laks, flying into the air with him under her arm. Pra Ram then turned around and saw his brother had vanished! So he drew his magic arrow Palajantra, and shot it into the sky. The magic radiance of the Palajantra arrow illuminated the sky, and Pra Ram scanned the heavens in search of his brother.

As soon as the arrow lit up the sky, Pra Laks was aroused and realised he had been enchanted with a spell by a female Yaksa Giant. He was Infuriated by this and thus rose his voice and cast a great spell to nullify the Yaksa's powers, taking away all her strength. Nang Asamukhee then fell from the sky, and Pra Laks used his sword to cut off her hands, whilst holding her down by standing on her chest and whipping her with his bow handle.

Nang Asamukhee was in great pain from this and begged for her life. Pra Laks let her flee into the forest.

The reunited brothers then got up and continued their search for Naang Siidaa, heading on into the forest of Takaleewan (»èÒ·Ñ¡ÅÕÇѹ).
